The UK government Department of Culture, Media and Sport has recently revealed that a Select Committee is to be put together to review the Gambling Act of 2005, as well as the UK casino gambling industry in general. The DCMS will be looking for those interested to put forward their opinions on various questions, including points relating to the effectiveness of the Act, the financial cost on the UK gambling industry as a whole, and the usefulness of the UK Gambling Commission.

This decision should allow all parties to make their opinions heard, and provide a platform to discuss UK-based advertising of offshore internet gambling companies.  The high taxation rate on internet gambling in the United Kingdom will also be a topic of discussion, in part the reason many large companies have not taken out UK licensing.
